Nice shops – Gràcia edition.

As I said before, I am not in the needed mood for gifts lists, mainly because I absolute adore finding the perfect gifts, I am an extremely passionate gift seeker (and receiver, of course). But for me it is really almost impossible to put together a generic list. I need to know the person, in order to use my (generally) renowned memory and my (sometimes) fine intuition and find the perfect gift. It might be a disorder of mine, because, trust me, it is really difficult to always find the “perfect” gifts 🙂 Long story short, I am not your help for the gift ideas, BUT I thought I would suggest some nice shops, which could prove useful even for this omniscient purpose.

I suggest you check out my list listening to this chill Christmas Spotify playlist. It´s the season, right?

These shops are all located in the Gràcia area, one of my favorites. For me, it is the heart of this city in terms of little shops, cozy places, good food, artistic vibe and just beautiful buildings and poetic streets. Its moment of glory is during the fiestas in August, but it is really not too bad in December either. So:

If you are searching for some awesome dresses, with a special touch, which you´ll not see too much around the city, which are designed locally and for which the manufacturing is respecting the environment and the actual manufacturers, you should go to Lady Loquita, Travessera de Gràcia, 126.  The shop is really cute , with high ceilings and a lot of space and it opened in 2007 (wow, right?). You can also find accessories of all sorts and the music is always soooo good. Prices are fair, from my point of view, but one might consider them a bit above the medium range.

Very close you can find another visually pleasant 🙂 shop: Rollitoasí. (they also have an online shop). It is very colorful and you can find a great variety of stuff, including bags designed by them, illustrations, jewelry, clothes even.  Really worth a visit!

Walking a bit down, in Plaça de la Vila de Gràcia you´ll find Biopassió, which is a small piece of heaven if you like teas, honey, all type of flours, nuts, seeds, turrón or spices. It is not the cheapest, maybe not even the best in term of eco offer in Barcelona, but it is cozy, the stuff is extremely helpful and the quality is good.

Very close, on Puigmartí 5, there is one of the most beautiful flower shops in this city, Muguet Floristeria. Before Christmas they offer some very special arrangements and they are really talented.

Back on Travessera, there is a “natural cosmetics” shop which I enjoy due to some of the brands they sell: Adonia. I put the quotation marks because I think this is not a correct term and there is no such thing entirely, but that is not the point here. Just check it out and judge for yourself. 🙂

Bethestore is located on Carrer de Bonavista, 7 and is a concept store with an extensive range of perfect little (and bigger) things that you really did not know existed. It is thus a bit dangerous, because you can find small agendas, nice pencils, soaps, books, tea, clothes, maps, popcorn machines, posters etc. and you can easily get lost. So, enter at your own risk! 🙂

This is my list for now, but it is not by any means complete. This neighborhood is an endless source of gems waiting to be discovered. Each corner can bring wonderful surprises.

As I already said, be mindful with your shopping. Now that you are here, I´ll actually give you an idea of a gift (I am sure you can find something similar in your country if you cannot access this one): Regalo Azul Solidario, which basically means that you are purchasing something very practical, such as vaccines, or pills for water etc. in the name of the person who´ll receive the gift.

Have a nice weekend and since I am not sure I´ll post again before Christmas, have a lovely Christmas, too! Be good and do good.

C.
